4 Signs We are Living in Quiet Rebellion

When I hear the word rebellion, my mind is instantly taken to the Hunger Games as the Mocking Jay encourages the people of Panem to fight back against a malicious and out-of-control government. Katniss may have been at the forefront, but the quiet rebellion was already happening behind the scenes. When it reached its peak,…

Sacred Holidays in a Dark World

My favorite Christmas carol is “O Holy Night.” The words take me away and fill me with such joy. I am reminded that Christmas isn’t just another season or day celebrated without a second thought. The words of the song echo in our hearts this year, “a thrill of hope, a weary world rejoices.”  We…

How to Choose a Study Bible

I will never forget my first official study Bible. We aren’t just talking about something simple. We are talking leather-like cover, lots of study notes, maps, and red letters. It’s sitting here with me as I write. It is far more worn than it used to be.  My mom gave it to me when I…

There is nothing quite like spring, the flowers bud after a long, dead winter. The grass is greener after months of dying in the cold. Bare branches make room for…

I let the little things get under my skin and focused my eyes on every distraction rather than on what mattered. Sometimes I have to get tough with myself. After the last couple of years it’s necessary that I stop it and do better. My focus is on what’s ahead and all the rest can be left behind. #2023 #wordoftheyear
